ZnO Nanoestructured Layers Processing with Morphology Control by Pulsed Electrodeposition
2011
The fabrication of nanostructured ZnO thin films is a critic process for a lot of applications of this semiconductor material. The final properties of this film depend fundamentally of the morphology of the sintered layer. In this paper a process is presented for the fabrication of ZnO nanostructured layers with morphology control by pulsed electrodeposition over ITO. Process optimization is achieved by pulsed electrodeposition and results are assessed after a careful characterization of both morphology and electrical properties. SEM is used for nucleation analysis on pulsed deposited samples. Optical properties like transmission spectra and Indirect Optical Band Gap are used to evaluate th…
Regenerable ZnO/GaAs Bulk Acoustic Wave Biosensor for Detection of Escherichia coli in “Complex” Biological Medium
2021
A regenerable bulk acoustic wave (BAW) biosensor is developed for the rapid, label-free and selective detection of Escherichia coli in liquid media. The geometry of the biosensor consists of a GaAs membrane coated with a thin film of piezoelectric ZnO on its top surface. A pair of electrodes deposited on the ZnO film allows the generation of BAWs by lateral field excitation. The back surface of the membrane is functionalized with alkanethiol self-assembled monolayers and antibodies against E. coli. The antibody immobilization was investigated as a function of the concentration of antibody suspensions, their pH and incubation time, designed to optimize the immunocapture of bacteria. The perf…
Ultrathin and nanostructured ZnO-based films for fluorescence biosensing applications
2011
The fluorescence-based sensing capability of ultrathin ZnO-SiO(2) nanoplatforms, deposited by an integrated approach of colloidal lithography and metal organic chemical vapor deposition, has been investigated upon adsorption of fluorescein-labeled albumin, used as model analyte biomolecule. The protein immobilization process after spontaneous adsorption/desorption significantly enhances the green emission of the different ZnO-based films, as evidenced by scanning confocal microscopy, corresponding to a comparable protein coverage detected by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Moreover, experiments of fluorescence recovery after photobleaching evidence that the protein lateral diffusion at th…
Rhodamine (B) photocatalysis under solar light on high crystalline ZnO films grown by home-made DC sputtering
2018
Abstract ZnO thin films were deposited by home-made DC sputtering of zinc target under mixed gases (Argon, Oxygen) plasma on glass substrates. Films were deposited by varying oxygen partial pressure (PO2) from 0.09 to 1.3 mbar in the deposition chamber, at a fixed substrate temperature of 100 °C. The samples were characterized by photoluminescence (PL), X-ray diffraction (XRD), optical transmissions (UV–vis), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and electrical (Hall effect) measurements. The results indicate that by varying the oxygen pressure in the deposition chamber, the films show a precise and well defined photoluminescence emissions for each range of pressure covering almost the entire …
